River of Song (2013), Guy's third album of original songs, catches the tempo and mood of travelling water. The twelve songs reflect impressions of people and places, moods and experiences, like a river telling its stories in pulse and current. Take some time to come to the river and listen to its song.
Guy Smith is a poet and songwriter based in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. Known as an earnest performer who seeks to connect with his audience, Guy tells his stories in songs. With the help of talented musicians and seasoned musician/producer Rusty McCarthy, his music weaves folk tales with catchy melodies in a variety of textures.
Your impressions in mud
cast the mood
Your tempo invites painters
to colour stories
Your song rings through generations
reflecting change
Rocks, waves, voices and hands
work the current
And time comes to life
in the River of Song
